The 2012 Laboratory Safety Workshop was held on March 15-16, 2012 at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Beckman Center in Irvine, California. During the workshop, researchers, students, and health and safety professionals engaged in intensive dialogue regarding the challenges and opportunities for improving the effectiveness of laboratory safety programs in the research setting. Chemical hazards in laboratories were emphasized. The first day focused on identifying lab safety problems and issues, and the second day on solutions and research plans.
Proceedings of the workshop are published in the Journal of Chemical Health and Safety.
